Capt Greg's got a tough decision

As usual, Capt Greg is between a rock and a hard place..... geez - what's a guy to do?!!!

Here's the problem... there are 3 more days of racing left in Fuereventura.... then does he:

a) go back to Maui where he could GO BACK TO WORK, but the trades have come back (sort of)

b) go on to the next event in Alacati Turkey and train for the next 17 days

c) visit his lovely friend, the long legged blond he met in Maui and see the sights around Lake Garda (which he's never been to)

d) stay and do the Speed Event and whup everyone's butt!

Oh boy..... help Capt Greg out by voting on the poll to the left of this

See how he is mouthing the word WWWWWhat?

and while we're asking questions here, do you know who this famous windsurfer is hiding behind the palms?

from Fuerteventura

a day off for the injured! and a local beer to help ease the pain.

Greg's relaxing cause his doctor told him to!

in the background, the beach is open, and the sand is kicking up. Micah was using a 5.8 today, pretty small sail for him, but after all it's his first day back after the stitches came out of his foot.

and beside Greg are the folks around the beach bar area, waving olla

Sorry for the screenshot pics, but Capt Greg doesn't send me any pics!!! So I take them off the skype window - at least the lovely mac he has provides a view!

PWA is a dangerous sport!

wow, it happened WAY out in the ocean at the auspicious Fuerteventura site. Capt Greg was just getting into the groove, figuring out all the angles to beat the crap out of the competition when.... his boom snapped and blasted him in the forehead!!!!

It hit him REALLY hard, but he says he really wasn't sure how bad it was until he saw the faces of the people on the beach when he got back to shore. 8 stitches were required, and of course he's not sposed to go in the water. Hmmm.

Ted has suggested just snugging a condom over his head, that'll keep it nice and dry! Sure!! Racing starts Friday, so stay tuned, I'm sure we'll be seeing Greg out there.

BTW, Greg is 37th in a field of 73 PWA racers - way to go Capt Greg!

Pozo Practice

Wow - Maui seems like heaven now.... the conditions in Pozo are extreme to say the least! The launch is round rolling stones, the shore break is killer and once you get beyond that the wind is super high and the chop is wickedly steep and you have to do it all on port tack to boot! Used a 5.8, then a 5.2, then a 4.6!!! If the forecasts are right, he might not even be able to sail the next few days!

Greg's got a locker on the shore by the launch. Staying at a nice place about 15 kms from the beach, the Hotel Gloria Palace (4-star) with huge buffet-style meals. Breakfast and dinner are included, so make the lunch sandwich at breakfast. Greg's going to gain weight - hah, might be a good idea to be able to hold down a sail in that crazy wind.

Between Costa Brava and here, Greg spent a few days with a local kiter who he met in Maui. Glad to know he's enjoying the local scenery ;-) Sounds like he's even picking up some more Spanish - adios amigos!

the "Fun" event! click here

Nice picture of Capt Greg on the PWA page - he looks kinda serious considering this is a world class FUN race series!!!!

another day of light winds, but sounds like the event was a hit for the spectators. Bet Greg has a sore wrist from signing all those autographs ;-)
